The Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Studies Centre released a special research report titled Global Governance Initiative: Towards a More Just, Inclusive and Orderly World at the 2026 Global Governance Forum held in Xiong’an, Hebei province, on Oct 24.

Against the backdrop of accelerating changes unseen in a century, the report traces the historical evolution of global governance and examines the current problems facing the global governance system, including deficits in justice, an inclusiveness crisis, and an order challenge.

The report elaborates on the five core principles advocated by the GGI: adhering to sovereign equality, abiding by international rule of law, practicing multilateralism, advocating the people-centered approach, and focusing on taking real actions. It presents the initiative as a systematic transcendence of traditional global governance theories and as China’s proposal for reforming and improving global governance.

The report also emphasizes that implementing the GGI is an important pillar for advancing towards a more just, inclusive and orderly world.

In addition, the report reviews China’s efforts to translate the initiative from conceptual vision into practical action and proposes directions for advancing its implementation in key areas, including United Nations reform, democratization of international relations, international security, development, human rights governance, economic and financial governance, artificial intelligence, cyberspace, and exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
