On July 3, 2026, Liu Qing, Vice President of the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Co-Chair of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific (CSCAP), and Chair of the CSCAP China Committee, co-chaired the 64th CSCAP Steering Committee Meeting in Kuala Lumpur together with Mohd Faiz Abdullah, Chair of the CSCAP Malaysia Committee. Over 40 representatives from CSCAP member committees, including those of China, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam, attended the meeting. Participants reviewed the progress made in the first half of the year and discussed work arrangements for the next phase.
