From June 22 to 27, 2026, Vice President Liu Feitao led a delegation to Bulgaria and Austria to participate in conferences and conduct think tank exchanges.
During their stay in Bulgaria, the delegation co-hosted the 2026 China-Central and Eastern European Countries Global Partnership Center Conference and “China-CEEC Cooperation in the New Era” Symposium together with Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The delegation also visited the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, and the Institute of Balkan Studies and Center of Thracology of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, engaging in in-depth exchanges on China-Bulgaria relations and China-CEEC Cooperation.
During their stay in Austria, the delegation attended the international seminar "China and the European Union: Challenges, Dynamics and Multilateralism in a Transforming Landscape" hosted by the Bruno Kreisky Forum. The delegation also visited Austria-China Friendship Association, and Global Neighbours Institute, conducting in-depth discussions on China-EU relations, China-Austria cooperation, and international hotspot issues.
