On September 9th, the 30th CIIS-IFANS(KNDA) Workshop was successfully held in an online format. CIIS President Xu Bu and President of IFANS(KNDA) Oh Youngju delivered opening remarks. Liu Qing, Vice President of CIIS and Kim Young-moo, Director-General of Department of Asian and Pacific Studies of IFANS(KNDA) co-chaired the meeting.
President Xu Bu pointed that this year and the next are the "Years of Cultural exchange between China and ROK". The two sides should jointly plan the new blueprint for economic and trade cooperation and further people-to-people communication. President Xu suggested that experts and scholars from both sides should conduct in-depth discussion and cooperation and operable policy to promote steady and long-term strategic bilateral cooperation.
Mr Ning Fukui, former Chinese Ambassador to South Korea，Mrs Cai Meihua, the director of the Northeast Asian Studies Center of Hunan Normal University,Mr Jun Bong-geun, professor of Department of National Security and Unification Studies of IFANS(KNDA) and Mr Kim Han-kwon, associate professor of Department of Asian and Pacific Studies of IFANS(KNDA) made speeches. More than 20 participants from China and South Korea discussed issues related to opportunities in bilateral relations and latest situation in Korea Peninsula.
The CIIS-IFANS(KNDA) Workshop, which is hosted by CIIS and IFANS,KNDA in turn, has been held for 30 consecutive years since 1992.
