China and the United States will hold a high-level strategic dialogue on Thursday and Friday in Anchorage, a city in the U.S. state of Alaska.

It will be the first face-to-face talks between top Chinese and U.S. diplomats since Joe Biden took over the U.S. presidency.

Experts say that one of the reasons to hold the meeting in Alaska is because of its location. Alaska is a halfway point between Beijing and Washington D.C. This literally means that the two sides meet each other half way.

Xinhua reporter takes you to Anchorage for a firsthand look.
