On November 19th, President Xu Bu attended a webinar on China-US relations jointly held by Peking University and Harvard University.

In the meeting, President Xu discussed the current situation of China-US relations and the prospects of cooperation. He pointed out that due to the Trump administration's irrational and confrontational measures, China-US relations have fallen into the most difficult period since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The history of China-US relations shows that the two countries stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. The US must respect China's political system and the Chinese people's choice of their own development path. The two sides should actively carry out constructive dialogue, conduct normal people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and vigorously promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, so that the relationship between the two countries can return to the right track, benefit the two peoples, and promote regional peace.

The theme of this webinar was "US-China Relations: Context and Prospects". More than 20 senior scholars from China and the US attended the meeting.
