On October 17, 2023, CIIS and Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) held a bilateral seminar in Beijing. CIIS Vice President Liu Qing and DAV Acting President Dr. Pham Lan Dung delivered opening remarks. Former Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho, former Vietnamese Minister to China Bui Trong Van, Senior Research Fellow Pan Jin’e with the Academic Division of Marxist Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other related scholars attended the meeting.
The two sides conducted candid and in-depth exchanges on the current Asia-Pacific economic and security situations, relationship between China's three Global Initiatives and global governance, and prospects for China-Vietnam Relations. Both sides agreed that under the guidance of the 16-word guideline and the spirit of “four good”, China and Vietnam should strengthen strategic mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, enhance people-to-people ties, and be committed to enhancing the well-being of the two peoples, injecting positive momentum into the prosperity and stability of the Asia-Pacific region.
