On January 8, Executive Vice President Ruan Zongze met with the delegation led by Dr. Shafiyev Farid,Chairman of Center of Analysis of International Relations of Azerbaijan . Both sides exchanged views on relationship between China and Azerbaijan,foreign policy of China, Belt and Road Initiative etc. Researchers from the Department for European-Central Asian Studies attended the meeting.

After meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on strengthening research cooperation between China Institute of International Studies and Center of Analysis of International Relations of Azerbaijan.
