The 1st Fisheries Management & Marine Environment Protection Workshop Successfully Held in Beijing

On June 7, the First Fisheries Management & Marine Environment Protection Workshop was co-held by China Institute of International Studies(CIIS) and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in Beijing. More than 30 experts from relevant government departments and think tanks of China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam had  fruitful discussion on measures to protect the fishery resources and enviroment in South China Sea, and on the short-term or medium and long term impediments to regional cooperation. Mr. Yang Yi, Secretary General of CIIS presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Zhao Qinghai, Senior Research Fellow and Director of Center for Maritime Security and Cooperation and Mr. Cao Qun, Associate Research Fellow of the Center attended the meeting.
